People come to Dr. McCormick’s practice for many reasons. Some are struggling with a long-standing problem with depression or anxiety. Others are battling binge eating or alcohol abuse.
Some people have experienced a trauma such as a sexual assault or the Marathon bombing and are suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder. Still others experience mood and behavioral problems related to a medical illness.
Dr. McCormick collaborates with each patient to create a treatment plan appropriate to the issues at hand. Some people engage in long-term insight-oriented therapy and others in short-term symptom-focused treatment.
Dr. McCormick often uses mindfulness-based meditation as part of individual therapy. She also collaborates with other clinicians involved in patient care.
